Back and Better

This week’s Intern Notebook may look a little different than usual. In fact, you may recognize me from months ago when I was a DSG intern. For those that need a quick refresher, my name is Jack Marinello and I am thrilled about being back on the team at DSG as a Marketing Associate.

Within a span of a week, my internship at DSG ended and my school career ended as well. Back in May, I graduated Magna Cum Laude from West Chester University with my Bachelor of Arts in Media and Culture. Although it was inevitable that my time as a Golden Ram was over, I was holding out hope that my time at DSG was not a true farewell. Luckily, I got the call to return as an associate and my new chapter is finally here.

New Responsibilities

When I interned here in the Spring, I specifically worked in search engine marketing, but with my new role I am excited to see many different tasks come my way.  Content strategy is a big part of any company’s marketing mix and my primary job is to help develop and promote the agency content across our social media platforms.

Though we are a smaller agency,  DSG sets the bar high regarding our content creation and has received many compliments for our efforts. We utilize our content to not only share our expertise, but also to show our company culture and values.  We are active on a wide variety of platforms including LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook. We also have a YouTube channel where we post our popular “Partner Spotlight” interviews and webinars. In addition, we host podcasts and send out newsletters to keep our clients informed of the latest happenings at DSG. I could not be more excited to be part of the content strategy team and put my creativity to the test.

What the Future Holds

Although my tasks have changed, the environment has not. I am overjoyed to be back in the welcoming atmosphere that DSG provides. I learned a lot on my first go round at the agency, but I am eager to grow more in the marketing world. Fortunately, DSG provides those opportunities and is already receptive to new content and branding ideas I have suggested. Aside from my current responsibilities, I hope to take on new challenges and work directly with clients as my time here continues.
