New Projects
Now that it is April, I am nearly three months into my internship at DSG. Life feels like a ticking clock with only one month left of my internship, and one month until I graduate from West Chester University. I have learned and grown tremendously throughout my time here, and I am excited for the opportunities to come in less than a month.
Now that I am fully integrated into the team, I have been brought onto many new projects. I can see my roles and responsibilities growing and I would like to use this entry to share my new experiences.
Webinar Focus Group
Recently, a few team members at DSG have been developing a webinar for one of our MuLo (Multi-Location) clients. Once they began rehearsing the webinar for presentation day, I was brought onto the project to serve as part of an internal focus group. Through this, I sat in on each rehearsal and acted as a test audience in order to provide feedback to the team.
This was a valuable learning experience in terms of project execution. Watching each webinar rehearsal, I learned the importance of teamwork in achieving goals. Once the rehearsals concluded, each observer would provide feedback toward improving the overall performance. I have seen how essential and beneficial implementing a feedback loop is to delivering a quality end product.
Agency Prospecting
A few weeks ago I was also given another task of researching and sourcing prospects for the agency. This has been an ongoing process of finding potential clients that fit our criteria which included mid to large sized local companies in specific verticals on a growth trajectory and open to exploring marketing efforts.
Now that the project is coming to an end, I can reflect on what I have learned from this experience. Helping to find potential clients reinforced my understanding of who we serve at DSG. I can now look at our current clients and see how they fit into these categories and gain a better understanding of what their digital marketing needs are. I also gained insight into the process of defining and refining target prospects and how that targeting is crucial to campaign success.
Still More to Learn
Approaching the end of my internship, it is gratifying to see how the projects I have been working on come full circle to benefit DSG. I look forward to the additional opportunities and realizing a deeper understanding of how an agency strategizes, prospects for clients, and develops a mutually beneficial relationship with those companies.
