Summer Coming to an End
As I write this, this will be the last week of this summer internship before my senior year of college begins. During my first week here, Paige told me that this summer would go by fast, and she wasn’t kidding. It is hard to believe how quickly time has gone by, but I am incredibly grateful for this entire experience and everything I’ve learned along the way.
While summertime is coming to an end, I was thrilled to get the news this week that my internship will continue into the fall semester. Everyone at DSG has made me feel incredibly welcome and a part of the team from day one, and I cannot wait to take this opportunity further.
Current Projects & Responsibilities
As time progresses, I’m engaged in several distinct projects. First, I am working with the team developing an ecommerce solution for DTC sales. Interestingly, this is not necessarily a core competency for DSG but one thing I have learned during my internship is if a client asks for it, we are going to make it happen! So far, we have done extensive competitive analysis and pricing research. We also are in the works of creating a Shopify store complete with product descriptions and photos. The fact that the team had to learn these skills together from the ground up made this project particularly rewarding.
Another exciting project the team and I have been working on is an affiliate marketing program for a large B to B construction client. There is a lot of excitement about this one at DSG as it has finally become a reality after a long approval and development cycle. We really got the ball rolling these past few weeks and are now perfecting the collateral to highlight our suite of digital marketing solutions to the field.
I love being part of these projects and have learned a lot about how marketing companies set things in motion. It takes a lot of preparation and consistency to succeed, but the end result is both rewarding and gratifying. I know that this is just the beginning, but I cannot wait to see how these projects evolve and what the end result will look like.
The DSG Team
Being able to proactively help one another and build off each other is really a cool part of this company. Everyone is there to work together and conquer goals and that is one of the main things I have taken away from this group of amazing people. It is rare to find a team who have the utmost respect for each other and work together seamlessly.
Going into this, I really wasn’t sure what to expect. This past summer I’ve learned how important having each other’s back really is to a company and what makes it thrive. For instance, if I need assistance with a task, I know that there are at least three people willing to help with no questions asked. It feels good to be a part of something so supportive and collaborative.
While this is my last notebook for the summer, I am excited to share more about my DSG experience in the future!
